Standardisation in design can lower risks, construction times and prices of smoke control solutions

standardisation-in-design-constructionAs the construction industry makes a move towards implementing more modern and efficient practices, standardisation in design, as well as off-site assembly are on the path to becoming the new normal.

At Group SCS we believe that standardised design is the innovative approach that will soon take over the construction industry. With this in mind, we have designed a range of modular solutions for protecting escape routes and ventilation in HRRBs (high-risk residential buildings).

Our packaged solutions increase efficiency and lower the overall costs, time and risk that are associated with smoke control.

The Modular smoke control approach

Group SCS offers a pre-designed suite of customisable solutions that can be applied to a wide range of HRRBs and other buildings for the protection of escape routes. The range includes AOV Kits and smoke shafts that address a variety of ventilation needs. Their predefined scope helps contractors eliminate lengthy design periods and cut unnecessary costs, while delivering high quality compliant systems.

Group SCS’s expertly designed range of AOV kits provides a safe and efficient solution for most smoke ventilation requirements. Designed to self-install, our modular products meet the requirements of Approved Document B of the Building Regulations. As well as that, they can be applied to most HRRBs (high-risk residential buildings) that fit within a predefined scope. Moreover, the standard open customisable software makes maintenance and upgrades easy post commissioning.

The AOV range works out of the box. The kits contain ventilators or actuators, control panels, smoke detectors and switches. In addition, all products have CE marking and conform to the relevant British and European standards.
