During any smoke control, BMS or passive ventilation project, compliance is always a major concern. This is where we shine – British Standards, H&S, RRO and more – we ensure everything’s covered. In particular, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) dictates that a building’s “responsible person” (generally a building owner, manager or FM) has to ensure proper operational service and maintenance of smoke control systems.
This is achieved by regular testing, but should a fault occur between tests, it is important that it does not go unnoticed and that a regular weekly or monthly test is not overlooked due to the unavailability of personnel.

Testing & Maintenance
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) states that a building’s “responsible person” (generally a building owner, manager or FM) must ensure proper operational service and maintenance of smoke control systems.
To ensure the correct ongoing operation of our life safety, energy management and building automation systems, we offer technical support, software updates and spare parts exclusively to our Support and aftercare service contract holders*.
*For issues arising in the first 12 months following commissioning, we will require the issuing of a PO before we are able to call out an engineer, in case issues are determined to have been caused by something other than defective parts or incorrect installation by Group SCS.
