administration-assistant-sophie-hawksworthLast week we welcomed Sophie Hawksworth, Group SCS’s new Administration Assistant, to our team. She’s bubbly, upbeat, and always up for a chat and when we reopen our offices, she’ll be the first one to greet you and help you get settled in. For now, however, Sophie will be the voice that greets you when you call us and will help you get through to other team members. Read on to see what she told us about herself, her path so far, and her role at Group SCS.

The journey here

Sophie started her professional journey at 16. Alongside her studies, she worked part-time at the Pendragon pub as a waitress and kitchen assistant. She then went on to take an Office Assistant position at Hugh James Solicitors and within a year and a half was promoted to File Administrator. She worked there for 4 more years and was promoted to Secretary before she decided to make a change and join the team.

Sophie’s new role

With lockdown measures still in place in Wales, Sophie’s role at Group SCS has gone through a few temporary changes. Once the office reopens, Sophie will be in charge of greeting visitors, setting up and organising meetings, and helping with any administrative tasks around the office. On her new position, Sophie says:

As I haven’t started my role fully in the office yet, I am unsure of what my favourite part of the job is. However, I am a very social and upbeat person and so I would imagine one of my favourite parts of the job will be meeting new people and being the first face people see when they arrive.

On a more personal note

Sophie has many interests outside of work – she loves going for long country walks, swimming, reading, completing detailed paint by numbers, cooking, and baking. She lends her skills to charity work as well and enjoys fundraising by organising bake sales and taking part in events like the Shine Walk in Cardiff.

We hope you join us in saying ‘Welcome’ to Sophie next time you give us a call.
