CRASH, the construction industry’s charity, is benefiting from a boost of more than £12,122 thanks to Group SCS’s fundraising and patronage over the past year.

The charity assists homeless and hospice charities with construction-related projects and over the past year Group SCS has taking part in a number of activities to boost CRASH’s funds. As part of its fundraising, Group SCS staff took part in a number of activities including the Paris Marathon, Ride London and the Windsor Half Marathon.

Festive fundraising

Additionally, at Christmas time, we signed up for the No Christmas Card Appeal, donating the money it would normally have spent on Christmas cards to CRASH. It also held a Christmas Jumper Day, where staff put on their most festive attire in exchange for a donation to the charity.

Being a patron partner means that Group SCS underpins every single homeless and hospice project that the charity supports. The charity offers pro bono professional expertise, sourcing building materials and the technical knowledge to use them and awarding cash grants sourced from its patron companies.

Importance of CRASH patrons

In the Group SCS Corporate Social Responsibility Report produced by the charity recently, covering April 2016 to March 2017, it says: “CRASH simply would not be able to respond to any of the requests we receive from homeless and hospice charities without our patrons.
“Throughout the year, CRASH records the value of all Group SCS’s contributions, be they financial donations, professional expertise or materials as well as the individuals who have so generously volunteered their time.”

Kate Marsh, CRASH Fundraising and Events Manager, said: “On behalf of the Trustees and the CRASH team please accept my sincere thanks for making this commitment to the work we do. Patron partners are the life blood of this charity and we could not continue to create places that care for people without your support.”
