Commissioning Engineer - M4 corridor

Outline of Role

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer who will work at our sites as a key member of our service and commissioning team. You will work alongside other Senior Engineers commissioning smoke ventilation projects on site. This will include reviewing design, overseeing and inspecting the installation, and commissioning applications and systems. This position will cover the M4 corridor, the Midlands and South Wales (travel to other areas within mainland UK may be necessary). A company van can be provided.

Key responsibilities

  • Experience of PLC based controls systems, with the ability to deploy, configure and debug system software (or willing to work towards achieving this)
  • An ability to physically check, maintain and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems and undertake remedial work when required
  • Understanding of electrical installations and control panel wiring
  • An ability to problem-solve, think outside of the box and use own initiative for solutions
  • Measuring and reporting accurate test data and progress information

About You – What you will bring to us

  • 18th Edition Electrical qualification or demonstrate electrical controls competence
  • Site experience, ideally holding a CSCS Card
  • CITB H&S Qualified (CSCS, SSSTS, IOSH)
  • Able to work alone and as part of an experienced team of engineers
  • Experience of HVAC or BMS systems or automation systems such as Siemens TIA Portal
  • Willing to travel around the UK including overnight stays when necessary
  • Always aim to deliver great customer service, but you are not afraid to say ‘No’ when needed
  • Be passionate about buildings and love working with people
  • You will have a methodical and practical attitude, and good attention to detail
  • Demonstrate confidence in your activities and witness-testing to clients
  • Candidates will be required to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Building Services qualification or other electrical/engineering qualification (desirable)
