Meet Kevin Mowatt, Contracts Manager

Kevin left school in 1983 and began a Youth Training Scheme, working at Marconi Defence Systems in Portsmouth. The scheme provided an introduction to the working environment and offered training in a number of disciplines within different departments.

He said: “I always enjoyed and had a flair for drawing from a young age so when I joined the drawing office my natural talent shone through and I was offered a full-time role. Whilst at Marconi I gained a HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering, which was relevant to the role I was employed in.”

Kevin stayed with Marconi for five years before moving on to work as a CAD designer for a local petrol pump manufacturer, Avery Hardoll. Shortly after he joined Colt International as a Project Engineer working within the smoke ventilation department. He stayed with Colt for just under 20 years, working his way up the career ladder to UK Contracts Manager, before leaving to look for new challenges.

Kevin is now a Contracts Manager at Group SCS, responsible for the successful delivery of projects to Key Account Customers within the smoke ventilation residential sector.

He said: “I enjoy focusing on delivery of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget and to the complete satisfaction of our clients to encourage repeat business.”

Outside work Kevin likes to keep fit and active, regularly running, cycling and working out. He enjoys adrenaline sports, such as karting, snowboarding and windsurfing.

To relax Kevin likes to watch motor sport and get out on his boat, as often as possible, and enjoy all the Solent and surrounding areas have to offer.
