Meet Angela Beacham, Service Administrator

After completing high school and then a vocational training course (leading to an NVQ), Angela began her career in an entry-level position at a finance service centre.

There she worked in various roles, including one focused on electronic data interchange (EDI), where she worked closely with suppliers. Angela contributed to several projects, including process mapping functions to support the transition of the role to an offshore service centre in India. She developed and delivered training plans, training new team members both locally and abroad.

Later, she worked in debt recovery at the finance service centre, including training staff from overseas as the remaining functions within the local office were transitioned offshore.

Angela said: “Whilst in India we were able to visit some amazing places when not working and made some memories that will stay with me forever. I met my now husband while out training staff there – despite us both working in the same office in Cardiff and having a friend in common, our paths had not crossed until we were both in India.”

After nearly ten years in the finance service centre, Angela moved to the smoke control industry as a service contract administrator, improving processes, building customer relationships, and growing the team before becoming contracts team supervisor.

Angela joined Group SCS in 2022 as Service Administrator. She manages service contracts by keeping records updated, issuing renewal quotes, and following up to secure contract extensions. Angela processes orders for renewals and new contracts, schedules maintenance visits, and ensures necessary permits and documentation are completed. She also assists with emergency callouts, coordinating between customers and engineers to provide timely responses. Additionally, Angela supports the finance team with invoice queries and uploads invoices to supplier portals.

When asked what part of her job Angela likes the most, she said assisting customers with queries and problem solving.

Outside work Angela enjoys several hobbies, saying: “I enjoy ice-skating although I do not get to do this too often anymore as most of my time is spent taking my child to various sporting activities. I enjoy baking sweet treats and making bread.”
