The EV-101DC-HBV Interface Panel and Hotbox is a dedicated solution for powering and monitoring fail-safe and smoke control damper actuators in applications requiring extended fire survival. Combining the intelligent functionality of the EV-101DC Damper Interface Panel with a thermally insulated Hotbox enclosure, it supports dependable damper operation in critical smoke and fire control systems.
Equipped with continuous monitoring, the panel provides real-time indication of damper position and operating status through clear visual indicators. Its built-in self-test function automatically exercises the connected damper to verify correct operation and identify faults, helping to simplify maintenance and support reliable long-term system performance.
The EV-101DC-HBV supports two operating configurations:
Standalone Mode – triggered directly by a connected smoke detector or fire alarm interface.
Addressable Mode – integrated with the EV-DCP-N damper control panel and operated in response to programmed cause-and-effect logic.
The unit accepts an 85–253V AC input and includes a 24V DC back-up input. It provides a 24V DC, 0.8A output for connected damper actuators.
For enhanced resilience, the Interface Panel is housed within an IP55-rated Hotbox manufactured from FabBloc insulating material with a RAL 9010 white finish. The enclosure provides fire survival at 300°C for 90 minutes, independently witnessed by Lloyd’s Register. The complete assembly measures 284mm high × 284mm wide × 160mm deep and weighs 5.6kg including the panel.
Additional highlights include:
- Continuous damper position and status monitoring.
- Automatic self-test functionality.
- Clear visual status indicators.
- 24V DC, 0.8A actuator output.
- 24V DC back-up input.

With intelligent monitoring, flexible system integration, and proven high-temperature resilience, the EV-101DC-HBV Interface Panel and Hotbox provides a dependable solution for maintaining effective damper control in demanding fire and smoke ventilation applications.
Under the Construction Products Regulations (CPR) it is a legal requirement to use only certified products for smoke ventilation. For more information see Group SCS’ Technical Bulletin. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure installations meet the relevant standards and that the installer has the appropriate competence to install or replace smoke ventilation products. We recommend installers hold an up-to-date IFC SDI 19 Smoke Control Systems certification to demonstrate compliance.
