Project Background

Having previously successfully completed the Westfield London project Group SCS were employed to provide ventilation and fire protection systems to the underground car parks, loading bays and mall escape routes. Working in partnership with Flakt Woods UK , with a total contract value of more than £1m.

The Project

The Client

Having previously successfully completed the Westfield London project, Group SCS were employed to provide ventilation and fire protection systems to the underground car parks, loading bays and mall escape routes.

Our Involvement

Off site assembly was employed for the roof mounted extract plant and in some cases this was lifted by helicopter due to the sheer size of the 1.9 million sq ft site. All systems were commissioned, demonstrated and handed over in good time for the opening.

Our Solution

Group SCS installed a pollution and smoke ventilation system to the underground car park with more than 200 jet fans, and 12 extract systems for the above ground areas with a site wide control network that integrated with the BMS and Fire alarm systems. Group SCS manufactured some 70 control panels all of which were acceptance tested at the Dorset manufacturing facility.
