The Panoramic

Project title: The Panoramic

Location: London

Client: MEICA

Service: Pressurisation System

Project Background

Formerly the British Gas offices, the Panoramic was converted in 1999 into luxury apartments and refurbished so that the exterior could be made completely of glass.

The Project

The Client
As the building was a conversion from an office, the fire safety measures required upgrading to meet the higher residential standards. The protection of the escape stairs was of paramount importance in allowing the project to proceed.
Our Involvement
Group SCS were employed by MEICA to design and install class B pressurisation systems.

Our solution

A class B pressurisation system was designed featuring 22kW run and standby fans located at ground floor level with a natural air release shaft in the lobbies to permit the 2m/s open door velocity for fire fighting protection. The system was commissioned during the night to prevent disturbance to airflows.
