Project Background

Riverside House, Bristol, is an apartment building located in the centre of the city. SCS Group’s service department, SCS Support, was called to attend the building in June 2016 to look at the building’s existing mechanical smoke ventilation system.

The Project

The Problem
SCS Group’s service department, SCS Support, was called to attend the building in June 2016 to look at the building’s existing mechanical smoke ventilation system. SCS Support inspected the system and found the mechanical smoke ventilation system comprised a single extract fan housed within a wooden felted box.

SCS Group’s Solution

Using its turnkey small work’s solution, SCS Support upgraded Riverside House’s system from top to bottom.

We installed the latest FläktWoods high temperature smoke extract fans as well as Easivent smoke shaft doors, actuators and control system. A maintained supply was ensured via a new UPS system.

SCS Support completed the upgrade of the mechanical smoke ventilation system on budget and within one month, meeting the customer’s exact requirements for building sign-off.
