As well as innovation and expertise, we also invest in our community and our employees. We are actively engaged with local organisations, charities, youth and community groups.
Employee engagement
At Group SCS we pride ourselves on the happiness and motivation of our staff. Our highly engaged team maintains a high standard of industry-leading customer service. We hold regular team-building and social events, including a Christmas party, and have also held Christmas parties especially for employees’ children.
Working with young people
We are pleased to be working with Careers Wales, an organisation which provides all-age careers information, advice and guidance to people in Wales. We have attended school job fairs organised by Careers Wales, where we have been able to promote our industry to young people and tell them about the opportunities that are available to them. In the future we are hoping to take part in mock interviews for young people finishing school.
Group SCS is determined to help raise the profile of the construction industry and show youngsters that it is a great choice for a career.
As part of this, we agreed to partner with Sir Simon Milton UTC (University Technical College). Sir Simon Milton UTC describes itself as being ‘for high achievers’ and is based in Westminster. It opened in September 2017, in time for the new academic year. In its prospectus, it is described as a college that aims to educate the young women and men who will become the next generation of professional engineers, technicians and innovators.
Group SCS partnered with Sir Simon Milton UTC for two years (starting September 2017) on a construction-related educational programme. The partnership was developed to address the lack of young talent in the industry. Our partnering was part of the Class Of Your Own (COYO) ‘Adopt A School’ scheme in which industry members such as Group SCS ‘gift’ the ‘Design, Engineer, Construct!’ Learning programme to schools across the UK.
As part of our partnering with Sir Simon Milton UTC, our staff were involved in working with students in different ways to help them with their learning.

Apprenticeships
We are a firm believer in apprenticeships and have helped people kickstart their careers in the construction industry through apprenticeship schemes. We update the available apprenticeships in our London and Cardiff offices on our vacancies page regularly.
