KEEPING SCS Group’s clients up to date with the latest news and developments within the company is extremely important and we are therefore pleased to introduce a new member of the team who will be helping to do this as part of her role.

Maria Hedges is SCS Group’s new Marketing Executive, focusing mainly on Easivent – the supply-only sales arm of the SCS Group. Maria will also be looking after Easivent’s Approved Installer Scheme, guiding companies through the applications procedure and helping them schedule training both online and at SCS Group’s offices in Cardiff.

So how did Maria get to SCS Group?

Business Management

Maria is originally from Weymouth, in Dorset, and after school moved to Colchester to study Business Management at the University of Essex. She found that her favourite modules were those about marketing, helping her decide where she wanted her career to go.

After graduating from university, Maria moved to Cardiff where she joined Gordon Dadds LLP as a Marketing Administrator, where she stayed for three years. She was able to build upon her knowledge gained at university and put it into practice.

Maria enjoys learning and developing her knowledge and decided to undertake the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing, which she completed in June 2017. She has since moved onto the Level 6 Diploma.

Approved Installer training

Maria, who started at SCS Group in November 2017 and is based in the Cardiff office, said: “Being new to the role, and industry, I am enjoying learning how marketing techniques can be used in different ways and how the organisation operates. I’m especially enjoying learning about the products supplied by Easivent and am looking forward to taking part in one of the Approved Installer training courses.”

Outside of work, Maria enjoys going to the theatre, knitting and travelling. She said: “I aim to see at least three new shows each year – last year’s included Hairspray, Die Fledermaus and Legally Blonde.”
