The Construction Investing in Talent Awards, organised by Construction News and New Civil Engineer, aims to reward individuals and teams who work so hard to attract and retain the best talent and brought together 400 industry professionals across HR, L&D, training, development and recruitment for a glittering evening of celebration and recognition.

After judging by HR and talent experts from both inside and outside the industry, SCS Group won the award for Best Reward and Recognition Scheme.

Judges reveal reasons

The judges said of SCS Group: “A smaller company, the winner’s scheme recognised the diversity of its workforce and the different motivations within its team in designing a multi-faceted package of rewards and recognition.”

Tom Fitzpatrick, acting editor of Construction News, said: “It was inspiring to see so many companies involved with the Construction Investing in Talent Awards going to extraordinary lengths to recruit young and diverse workers into careers in construction.

“This industry needs to recruit 200,000 new people in the next five years and while it has taken criticism in the past for its approach to recruitment and image, the winners of these awards have proved they can inspire and challenge the status quo and make the construction industry a place where anyone can work and have a successful career.”

SCS Group’s Operations Manager Macarena Machado, who attended the glittering awards ceremony, said: “We are so pleased to have won this fantastic award. It is always our aim to make sure we engage our employees and encourage them to be a part of the growth of the company. Winning this award is confirmation that we are recognising and rewarding our employees and allowing them to benefit from our continued success.”
