SCS Group was first accredited with the Investors in People (IiP) standard in 1999 and has now held IiP accreditation for more than 16 years.
Launched in 1991, Investors in People is the UK’s leading people management standard. Companies are assessed against areas such as business strategy, learning and development, and involvement and empowerment.
Maintaining the Investors in People standard represents a true commitment to employees and demonstrates a solid foundation of good practice.
During our most recent IiP assessment (report date August 3, 2014), the Assessor found that the company’s key strengths included:
The Assessor said: “SCS has created an atmosphere where people feel able to make contributions and where they have the opportunity to learn; the organisation and its line managers are clear about what is expected of them in terms of leading, managing and developing those skills. There were examples of learning at different levels – e.g. Managing Safely, Product Knowledge, Negotiating Skills, 20/20 Leadership and many more.”
They added: “People feel appropriately empowered – through their involvement in reaching relevant decisions – to undertake their roles with confidence. Learning and development plans are effectively implemented and people can discuss and identify what they have learned and how the learning has helped them fulfil their roles.”
Allan Meek, Managing Director of SCS Group, said: “We are delighted to have been reaccredited with the Investors in People standard. Our people are at the heart of our organisation and staff wellbeing is extremely important to us.”
